Les cueillettes du Honigberg
57410 Bining
Honigberg («the hill of honey») or Honigheftel (the small honey farm") is a place at the gates of the Regional Natural Park of the Northern Vosges, located in Bining in the Pays de Bitche, where my ancestors lived and cultivated.
For 5 generations, this place dating from the nineteenth century has been passed down from mother to daughter. My great-grandmother had hives and used to serve honey toast to passers-by. Destroyed during the war, he wisely bagged himself.
The gardens recreated, the hives relocated, the place slowly reborn. The products from the farm are the continuation of this story.
In Honigberg there are two gardens. That of aromatics and flowers, on 1000m² well exposed and that of vegetables in a small valley, in a kitchen garden of 400m². About thirty plants are grown and a dozen are picked in accordance with the specifications of Organic Agriculture.
There are perennials (lavender, hyssop, mint, thyme, sage...), biennial plants (white broth, mauve...) and annual flowers
