Discovering the botanical collections and the history of the Gardens of Villa della Pergola, winners of the "Most Beautiful Park in Italy"

This year marks an important anniversary: in fact, the eighteenth year is celebrated by the rescue of

from a potential building speculation that could have erased the
of this enchanted place. The "crazy" gesture of love put in place by the property in 2006 allowed to preserve this natural and cultural treasure rewriting destiny and giving it new life. The years of restoration, replanting and constant care have led the
to shine up to win the prize "The most beautiful Park in Italy". Watch the
of the Gardens of Villa della Pergola A story of resistance and resilience, in which the genius loci has defeated cement and destruction. Visiting the Gardens does not mean just discovering a
park set in one of the most evocative places of Liguria, but represents the unique experience of participating in a dream come true. A tour to discover the
wonders of the world, including unique
of citrus, cacti and rarities such as the prehistoric Wollemia Nobilis. A walk of about 80 minutes between thousands of species of plants and flowers. Immerse yourself in the infinite shades of green that, thanks to the wise intervention of the landscape architect Paolo Pejrone, give life to environments extremely different from each other where cypresses, jacarande, cedars of Lebanon, Maritime pines and centuries-old specimens of Phoenix canariensis create enchanting views of the sea of Alassio among agapanthus, water lilies, lotuses, iceberg and lantane roses and many other varieties of plants. At the Gardens of Villa della Pergola every season is unique and is always a discovery for all lovers of botany!

The Park of Villa della Pergola is a unique example of an Anglo-Mediterranean park that has preserved its original size.
It was created in the late 1870's, to fulfill General Montagu McMurdo and his wife Lady Susan Sarah Napier's desire to restore a private villa on the Italian Riviera that was intended to be their winter and spring retreat.

This garden of rare beauty is full of rare and spectacular plants.
