About the location

Jardins du château de Châteaudun
Place Jehan-de-Dunois 28200 Châteaudun
  • Eure-et-Loir
  • Centre-Val de Loire
Near the keep, the garden of medieval inspiration, made up of boxwood squares, allows to discover 150 species of aromatic and medicinal plants thus used in the Middle Ages. Below the Dunois wing, hanging halfway up the Loir side, is the hanging garden, one of the first in France, and unique in the Centre region. It is a space originally reserved for the owner of the place for his leisure and relaxation. Accessible from the apartment baths, it offers panoramic views of the landscape and can itself be contemplated through the windows of the castle.
