Visit of the Jardin des Marceaux in Chabeuil
Guided tours at 10.30am and 2.30pm to discover the Marceaux garden. The garden consists of three distinct parts: the first, near the family home, is the oldest; it consists mainly of fragrant shrubs, roses and various perennials. The second, started 10/12 years ago, was a large field in fallow, a blank page so that now gives pride of place to many trees and shrubs. This more recent part presents a great botanical diversity, with plants found in France and elsewhere. The third part is on the edge of the river, where the atmosphere, fresher thanks to the presence of water, is also more natural.
With the acceleration of climate change, we try to adapt the garden by the choice of planted species, by practices to limit watering, and by differentiated mowing.
The whole, on an area of 2.4 hectares, is an LPO refuge where we want to preserve and promote the maximum biodiversity. For us, the garden is a haven that we are happy to share.
