The Clos de l'Evolution
This garden was created and is managed by the association Entre Cours & Jardins. It is organized in an original way: the plants are associated in the different parterres according to the kinship of the species to which they belong. As for individuals, kinship refers here to the idea of a greater or lesser proximity in the time of common ancestors. But, while it concerns the short time of human life for individuals, kinship, for species, is part of the long time of evolution. All living species, both plant and animal, are, in fact, derived from species that are now extinct, from which they have gradually differentiated themselves by mutations. This, over millions of years. Kinship is therefore also genetic proximity: the more species have retained a common genetic heritage, the closer they are to kinship.
