The Marly Rose Garden has two parts, the upper part that surrounds the family home has a French-style layout, and the lower, hilly part is English-style landscaped.
The first part consists in particular of geometric massifs, bordered with cut boxwood as well as insulated boxwood balls and cones on lawns.
The second part is planted with remarkable trees, climbing roses, tall stems and weepers, and conifers and shrubs with various flowers.

About the location

Jardin des pépinieres Jouin
61, rue de la Gare, Marly, Moselle, Grand Est

  • Grand Est
This garden was created in 1925 by Emile Jouin and his son Eugène according to a plan drawn up by Léon Cuny, curator of the gardens of the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris. Abandoned during the war 39-45, it was restored by Eugène Jouin who made it the showcase of the nursery that bore his name. Upon his death in 1981, his son Pierre, who was also a nursery-rose farmer, continued to maintain the garden. Since 1997, it is the property of Mrs.Chaude, the latter being the daughter of Eugène Jouin.
