The City Image Meetings

From 10 to 20 October 2024 - Aix-en-provence, Marseille
To develop the quality of the relationship and the encounter with its audiences, to improve the attention paid to the accompaniment of films and promote the circulation of ideas and public debate about our urban civilization, Image de ville has refocused its historical activity in film programming and broadcasting. From now on, the Rencontres d'Image de ville are structured around two proposals developed throughout the year, Docville, a program on architecture and urban territories, and Terrestrial, on the ecological issue.
This second edition of the city image event proposal, backed by the National Architecture Days, takes place over two consecutive weekends.
Aix-en-Provence welcomes, as part of the Biennale d'Aix and the program devoted to Lebanon, guest country of this 2024 edition, the dialogue a filmmaker, an architect, dedicated to the city of beirut.
In Marseille, with État des lieux, which completes definitively the architecture of its programming, Les Rencontres d'Image de ville question this year the relationship between cinema and architecture, between filmmaker and architect. Proposed and presented by the urban philosopher thierry Paquot, Au Gai Savoir urbain, is hosted jointly by the History Museum and, for the first time, by the Mediterranean Institute of the city and territories. two cinema events are also offered. as well as a program at the image studio Mouvement/ centre pénitentiaire des baumettes and various proposals for young audiences in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence.
