Two days of Wikipedia contribution workshops with Nîmes, Ville et Pays d'art et d'histoire, in association with the University of Nîmes. In the presence of experts from Wikpédia and the heritage of Nîmes, participate in the enrichment of the online encyclopedia!
On the theme of «New lives of buildings», discover the history of two university sites that have been redeveloped in recent decades: The Vauban university site, The former citadel was built in the 17th century and was used as a central detention centre until 1991. It was the Italian architect Andréa Bruno who won in 1992 the architectural competition for the redevelopment of the place in university.
The university site of Hoche is also the result of a recent redevelopment of the former Gaston Doumergues hospital, which was built in 1924 on the site of an old hospital, the Hospice de l'Humanité. Bought in the 21st century, the first part of the site was inaugurated in 2013.
After a visit and some shots, discover the functioning of the most consulted encyclopedia in the world and participate in a writing workshop to create new wikipedia pages on these sites.
