Located in the heart of the town center, near the town hall, this building occupies a strategic position and was bought by the municipality in 2021. Once threatened with demolition, it was finally the subject of major rehabilitation work, completed in 2024, the year of its inauguration.
This major project contributed to the development of the village, in parallel with the development of the town center. It also enabled the installation of a multiservice bringing together a bar-restaurant, a postal agency, a distribution point for local products, as well as workspaces made available to CIRIR and the Impact association.
This rehabilitation is above all a fine example of safeguarding a remarkable building in impactite, an emblematic stone of the territory, directly linked to the astrobleme of Rochechouart-Chassenon. This rock bears witness to the impact of a meteorite that occurred about 200 million years ago. The site has been protected since 2008 within the national nature reserve of the Rochechouart-Chassenon astroblème.
