On the occasion of the Night of reading and as part of the programme of conferences organised one time a month on themes diverse and various, with the intention of emphasising not only French and French-speaking culture but also its actors, the French Alliance(Wedding ring) of Abu Dhabi has the honour to welcome sir Jean Liardon, co-author of the bestseller «to See a friend stealing(flying). Last years of Jacques Brel».
Jean Liardon tells it his life and his friendship with Jacques Brel, celebrates singer, poet, producer and Belgian actor, of his decision to leave the scene until the day before his death, on October 9th, 1978.
This book, grave, funny, soft and human, arose from another meeting. That of Jean Liardon with Arnaud Bedat has the Inn St Gabriel in Montreal. It is Arnaud Bedat who collected his(her) fascinating memories(souvenirs).
Jean Liardon is old(former) guiding, professional pilot(driver) of a school of aviation in Geneva where he got acquainted with Jacques Brel in October, 1969. Since 2003 he lived in Dubai where he continues to work as instructor of flight(theft), adviser(councillor) and examinant in a school of aviation in Dubai.
Arnaud Bedat, author and Swiss investigative journalist. He(It) published two books(pounds) in 2014 and 2017 on the pope François.
This event is not only an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet a pilot(driver) and to discover its job(business) but also one moment to pay tribute to the man and to the artist whom was Jacques Brel.
Conference joins at night of reading 2019, organised by the French Ministry of Culture for the third consecutive year. A night devoted to the pleasure of reading, of taste of discoveries but also dedicated to exchange and to division(sharing). Libraries(Bookcases), bookshops and other actors of the book open their door big(great) worldwide.
Conference will take place at 18 h 45 on January 19th, 2019 in the French Alliance(Wedding ring) of Abu Dhabi.
