«Papa Ballon», artist’s book workshop with Saehan Parc

«Papa Ballon»
Artist’s book workshop with Saehan Parc
All of Papa Ballon’s drawings are fully illustrated with a single drawing tool: an architecture rule. It is a semi-transparent template that allows to draw various geometric shapes. The workshop will allow to explore this historical tool. From a simple oval, you can create anything you want. Saehan Parc, the author-illustrator of Papa Ballon, will invite families to play, experiment and realize on paper their own universe, all in a round...
Born on 4 February 1989 in South Korea, Saehan Parc lives and works in Strasbourg, France. Growing up in Bucheon, a town known as the “Angoulême de Corée”, she was inspired by Manhwas, Mangas, Comics and European comics. Following her studies in South Korea and France, notably at HEAR in the illustration section, she found her own graphic and narrative style. Curious, she likes to draw and make people want to draw, without forgetting the values she holds dear. In 2021 she published her first youth album, Papa Ballon at Éditions 2024. His illustrations can be found in the New York Times, Bloomberg Businessweek, Süddeutsche Zeitung... She also participates in group exhibitions, such as “Unique and Multiple” at the Anne Barrault Gallery in Paris, and in annual group exhibitions in Seoul as a member of Louise the women, a collective of visual artists from Korea.
