Agricultural Cluster of Herzegovina - Old Herzegovina, Slow Food Trebinje, Herzegovina, Museum of Herzegovina, Photo-Cinema Club Trebinje and PI Center of High Schools Trebinje have implemented the project "Virtual Journey in the Footsteps of Ancestors" in the past 7 months, as local support to the international event Terra Madre. The general goal of the project was to draw the attention of the public, and especially young people, to the value of the food heritage of Eastern Herzegovina.
During 6 months, various activities were carried out for that purpose, of which we single out: introductory lecture of the Museum of Herzegovina on the food heritage of our region, photo competition on the heritage of food of East Herzegovina, cooking workshop on preparation of modern dishes from local ingredients for students of Trebinje High School. Open days of small producers for the purpose of media promotion of rural tourism, 5 local workshops with the aim of defining activities at the local and regional level, and a round table "Food Heritage of East Herzegovina" - Analysis of the situation, opportunities and expectations. The final manifestation of the project will be organized on July 3 2021 in the Museum of Herzegovina, where the 60 best photos submitted to the competition will be exhibited, awards will be given to the best, a tasting of dishes from indigenous products and a presentation of an online promotional map of small producers.
