The museum of the Fine Arts of Lons-le-Saunier is based(established) in 1817 by the Company(Society) of emulation of Jura. Established(Constituted) to a great extent by important successive gifts(donations), this museum is first installed(settled) in a room of the Prefecture, then in 1851, it is transferred in a wing of the Town hall. Currently, the museum divides into two sections with, at the ground floor, the collection of sculptures and, on the first floor, that of paintings(paints). A room of the first floor is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions(exposures).
