Created in 1977, the Museum of Pontarlier occupies one of the most old(former) houses of Pontarlier (XVth century). The building(ship) kept(preserved) beautiful set(group) of stained-glass windows of style Art nouveau and beams adorned with historiés painted motives, dated the XVIIth century.
The Museum of Pontarlier presents on three levels of collections bound(connected) to the history(story) of Pontarlier and to that some absinthe, of archaeological collections (of the Prehistory in Middle Ages), from the Franche-Comté paintings(paints) and earthenwares. Temporary exhibitions(exposures) are regularly organised on various subjects.
