Built at the beginning of the XVIIIth century, the castle of Fields distinguishes itself by its modernity, with the appearance of a new lifestyle and a research(search) for comfort. He welcomes famous tenants as the dukes of Vallière, madam de Pompadour, of men of letters and of the Encyclopedists. Acquired by the State in 1934, he(it) becomes presidential residence and twenty foreign heads of state stay there from 1958 till 1969\. The park of the castle, of 85 hectares, is labelled remarkable Garden, with the whole classic inspiration of French-style garden, set in an English-style landscaped park. The castle opened again its doors June 29th, 2013 after 7 years of closure(lock) and an important construction site(work) of restoration(catering) of the monument and its collections.
