Festival Groove'N'Move

The MEG is joining forces with the Groove'N'Move Festival for a disconcerting evening. The programme will be revealed after the Festival press conference.

Inspired by the concept of "Conscious Clubbing", Common Flow offers a friendly space for exploring movement in a subdued atmosphere. The aim is to let go and make room for spontaneous movement without constraints. The session is first set in motion by the facilitator, then guided by the DJ.

DJ Jon Kwizera will be playing a brand new set based on a selection of MEG sound archives. Bewitching, danceable sounds, with multiple sonorities: the promise of an exceptional journey, beyond the frontiers of time and space.

The aim of the Common flow meetings is to create new spaces for expression and exploration: friendly spaces that give everyone the freedom to express themselves through movement and free dance, alone or in a group. To create a meeting place at the crossroads of several movement disciplines, for spontaneous practice, without constraints or judgement.

These meetings are inspired by the concept of "Conscious Clubbing": a clubbing atmosphere, subdued, without recreational substances!

The aim is to let go, reconnect with yourself and others, share a simple moment and enjoy the music, the movement and the dance.

Who's it for?

For those who love and explore dance and movement. For those who want to dance solo or in a group, or simply take part in a moment of sharing. No need to know how to dance!

How?

The sessions take place barefoot or in socks and are non-verbal from start to finish: they are essentially guided by music, to enable a total sensory journey and leave plenty of room for bodily expression.

Speakers:

DJ: Jon Kwizera
Facilitator: Sébastien

At the start of each session, the facilitator accompanies the movement to create a flow of exploration. It's then up to the DJ to guide the journey through a variety of sounds.

There are a few rules to follow:

  • Go barefoot or wear socks
  • Photos and videos are not permitted
  • Alcohol and drug use are prohibited
  • Movement takes precedence: discussions and exchanges of words are only possible once the session is over.
  • Enjoy yourself, in a happy, good-humoured atmosphere and with respect for each other!
