Cigarette posters: a look back at thirty "glorious" years (1945-1973) [Jeudi midi de l'affiche]
Thanks to a corpus of advertising posters posted in Switzerland during the "Trente Glorieuses", Jacques Olivier will review the period that saw cigarettes go from being a symbol of economic prosperity to being a harmful and worrying consumer product for public health.
Dr. Jacques Olivier (MD-PhD) has a dual training in medicine and literature. He is the author of a thesis on the history of cigarette manufacturers in Switzerland and practices general internal medicine.
In connection with this conference: exhibition "Affichage sans filtre" until 19 November 2022 in the "Couloir des coups d'œil" of the Bibliothèque de Genève, 1st floor in the Bastions.
