Hortus Botanicus Helveticus – 30 years, 30 gardens, 30 iconic species
To mark the 30th anniversary of HBH, this exhibition invites visitors to discover, through 30 panels, the diversity of Switzerland’s botanical gardens and their commitment to the preservation of life.

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Swiss Botanical Gardens Association, Hortus Botanicus Helveticus, the Geneva Botanic Garden invites the public to discover the richness and diversity of this network through a unique tour of the Geneva Botanical Garden, the venue for the celebrations.
Comprising 30 banners dotted across the landscape, this trail uses these 30 banners to highlight Switzerland’s 30 botanical gardens and their living collections. Each banner represents a garden and features, in a graphic and stylised form, an iconic plant species chosen for its symbolic value and its familiarity to the public.
As visitors make their way along the path, they discover the diversity of the institutions that make up this network: university and municipal gardens, alpine gardens, arboretums and research stations. Through the plants they cultivate and study, they all demonstrate the vital role that botanical gardens play in understanding, conserving and promoting plant biodiversity.
This exhibition also highlights the power of collective action. For 30 years, the members of Hortus Botanicus Helveticus have been working closely together: they exchange seeds and expertise, develop their scientific and horticultural practices, and join forces to raise awareness of the importance of plants in our societies.
By highlighting the connections between these institutions across the country, this exhibition invites visitors to take a fresh look at botanical gardens and their commitment to the conservation of nature.

Pour les 30 ans d’Hortus Botanicus Helveticus, cette exposition invite à découvrir, à travers 30 voiles, la diversité et l’engagement des jardins botaniques suisses pour la préservation du vivant.
Jardin Botanique de Genève
À l’occasion du 30ème anniversaire de l’association des jardins botaniques suisses Hortus Botanicus Helveticus, le Jardin Botanique de Genève invite le public à découvrir la richesse et la diversité de ce réseau à travers un parcours original au cœur du Jardin Botanique de Genève, lieu des célébrations.
Composé de 30 voiles déployées dans le paysage, ce parcours met en lumière, au travers de 30 voiles, les 30 jardins botaniques que compte la Suisse ainsi que leurs collections vivantes. Chaque voile incarne un jardin et donne à voir, sous une forme graphique et stylisée, une espèce végétale emblématique, choisie pour sa valeur symbolique et sa familiarité auprès du public.
Au fil du parcours, le public découvre la diversité des institutions qui composent ce réseau : jardins universitaires et municipaux, jardins alpins, arboretums ou stations de recherche. À travers les plantes qu’ils cultivent et étudient, tous témoignent du rôle essentiel des jardins botaniques dans la connaissance, la conservation et la valorisation de la biodiversité végétale.
Cette exposition met également en lumière la force du collectif. Depuis 30 ans, les membres d’Hortus Botanicus Helveticus collaborent étroitement : ils échangent graines et savoir-faire, développent leurs pratiques scientifiques et horticoles, et unissent leurs voix pour mieux faire reconnaître l’importance des plantes dans nos sociétés.
En révélant les liens qui unissent ces institutions à travers le pays, ce parcours invite le public à porter un nouveau regard sur les jardins botaniques et leur engagement pour la préservation du vivant.
