The "Antonio Pasqualino" International Puppet Museum
Saturday 20 May 2017, on the occasion of the 13° European Night at Museums, the "Antonio Pasqualino" International Puppet Museum will be open in the evening - from 7.00 to Midnight, last admission at 11 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to enter the Museum's rooms and discover or rediscover its international collection, that includes more than 4,000 items.
Among these, the biggest collection of Sicilian "pupi" as well as objects used in the other puppet traditions that were declared Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO: Japanese Bunraku, Indonesian Wayang Kulit and Cambodian Sbek Thom.
Moreover, the artistic puppets and sceneries made by contemporary artists are displayed, too, such as Tadeusz Kantor, Enrico Baj and Renato Guttuso's art works as well as the puppets used in other counties of the world: Vietnam, China, Myanmar, India...
