Für diese JEA hebt die Bibliothek des MAM die monumentale Ausgabe der Beschreibung Ägyptens hervor. Eine außergewöhnliche Leistung, die aus der Arbeit von Wissenschaftlern der Kommission für Wissenschaft und Kunst hervorgegangen ist, die Bonaparte nach Ägypten begleitet haben, in einer Expedition, die die Geburt der Ägyptologie markiert. Im Zusammenhang mit der Sammlung ägyptischer Altertümer des Archäologischen Museums kann die Öffentlichkeit zum ersten Mal in der Bibliothek die 10 Bände der zweiten, zwischen 1820 und 1830 veröffentlichten Ausgabe entdecken und bewundern.

For these JEAs, the MAM library highlights the monumental edition of the Description de l'Égypte. An extraordinary achievement, resulting from the work of the scientists of the Commission of Science and Arts who accompanied Bonaparte in Egypt, in an expedition that marks the birth of Egyptology. Echoing the collection of Egyptian antiquities of the archaeology museum, the public will be able to discover and admire, for the first time in the library, the 10 tomes of plates of the second edition published between 1820 and 1830.

Une réalisation hors norme, issue du travail des savants de la commission des sciences et des arts ayant accompagné Bonaparte en Égypte, dans une expédition qui marque la naissance de l’égyptologie. En écho à la collection d’antiquités égyptiennes du musée d’archéologie, le public pourra découvrir et admirer, pour la première fois à la bibliothèque, les 10 tomes de planches de la seconde édition publiée entre 1820 et 1830.
