Emad, a farmer, lives in Bil'in in the West Bank. Five years ago, in the middle of the village, Israel erected a “separation wall” that expropriated 1,700 people from half their land to “protect” the 150,000-strong Jewish settlement of Modi’in Illit. The villagers of Bil'in are therefore engaged in a non-violent struggle to obtain the right to remain owners of their land, and to co-exist peacefully with the Israelis. From the beginning of this conflict, and for five years, Emad filmed the actions undertaken by the inhabitants of Bil'in. With his camera, bought at the birth of his fourth child, he establishes the intimate chronicle of life in a boiling village, drawing the portrait of his family and friends, as they are affected by this endless conflict.
