Francis Baudevin practices an art of trompe-l'oeil, between abstraction and representation. In this exhibition that looks back on his last twenty years of work, he plays with categories, organizing his paintings as suites of colors and formats, or families of mediums. Playing cards, which are one of the favorite tools of the illusionists, become here a possible image of painting, rebattues so as to mix Pop Art, geometric abstract art and minimalist seriality. The exhibition has received the support of the Swiss Foundation for Culture Pro Helvetia and is part of the Normandy Impressionist Festival.
