About the location

Musée de l'Hospice Comtesse
32, rue de la Monnaie 59000 Lille
  • Nord
  • Hauts-de-France
Located in the historic heart of Lille and founded in 1237 by the Countess Jeanne of Flanders, the Hospice Comtesse houses a museum of art and history of the city, from the Ancien Régime to the French Revolution. Emblematic heritage, the courtyard of this former hospital offers a panorama of the art of building in Lille from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century. The collections and the rooms of atmosphere such as the kitchen, the refectory or the lingerie, recall the hospitable vocation of the place and evoke all the intimacy of a Flemish house of the past centuries. The prestigious Sick Room hosts temporary exhibitions once or twice a year.
From October 4th, the ground floor of the community will no longer be accessible to visitors. The collections of art and history of the museum, exhibited on the 1st floor of the museum, will always be discovered during this period.
All museum spaces are scheduled to reopen in spring 2022.
