Following the fall in oil prices, and as part of a political will to reduce dependence on natural resources, many Gulf countries have decided to undertake economic diversification strategies, some based on a tourism economy. The case of Dubai is exemplary, that of Qatar in sport too, but Saudi Arabia has also decided to embark on this type of economic development through tourism. During this session, specialists from the Arab world economy will present and discuss these strategies. Is tourism a new Eldorado for the liberalization of the Arab countries of the Gulf? Or rather a mirage?
