The Arab avant-gardes never cease to refer to his sense of tragedy and his derision; almost all of them, moreover, had at one time or another a «cubist» period: Picasso certainly did not travel in the Arab world like Matisse or Klee, but the knowledge of his work is essential to anyone who wants to understand anything about modern Arab painting as its influence is colossal.
POPULAR ARTS IN THE ARAB WORLD

The concept of «popular art» has blurred contours and exists in negative of scholarly art which, in the Arab world, is understood as the arts of Islam and fine arts as imported from the West. The links between these two worlds are however not so tight. Are popular arts (fire arts, textile arts, body expressions, etc.) “the art of the people” or “the art of a people”?
Registration for the Picasso cycle is entitled to a reduced rate on the Popular Arts cycle
