It is to tell the story of the Great Epoch, a period of effervescence marked by galloping industrialization, and to stage a magnificent collection of 19th century carriages that the show route «Le grand départ» was imagined. The visitor enters the stables and, through an astonishing play of mechanism, is projected in the summer of 1900. He is welcomed in an old cinema by Marcel, a projectionist, and, comfortably seated in period benches, he goes to meet Eugène and Antoinette Schneider, then owners of the castle of Apremont. Eugène Schneider, master of forges and great industrialist of his time, had to go to Paris to inaugurate his own pavilion at the 1900 Universal Exhibition.
