Musées de Cholet

Since 2003, the museum also houses the last red handkerchief workshop in Cholet. It perpetuates a tradition and a know-how: emblem of a city and a territory. Its centennial history is evoked in the workshop open to all.
Demonstrations take place regularly throughout the day (no specific schedules).

The museum is housed in a laundry built in 1881, which operated until 1940\. Its garden invites you to discover the unusual use of tinctorial and fiber plants in the crafts and textile industry. In a maze of colours, these plant species reveal the secrets of a thousand-year-old know-how. It provides a rich and lively panorama of the choletaise textile industry.
