The idea of creating a Regional Center of Popular and Sports Education of Reims was launched in 1967 to replace the one in the city center on the site of a former textile factory. The project was adopted in 1977 with the aim of training sports executives and promoting popular education activities, through the organization of sports courses, and the reception of athletes. Led by INSEP (Institut National du Sport, de l'Expertise et de la Performance), the project aims to create and run a network of infrastructures for sports performance. Indeed, the CREPS is located in a beautiful green space of 22,000 m2 composed of sports and educational facilities in the heart of the Red Cross district for athletes, trainees in professional training, and local and national associative partners. The latter has a multifunctional hall, providing access to administrative services, dining rooms, library and fireplaces.
