Église Saint-Crépin-Saint-Crépinien
Rue de l'Église, 51500 Écueil
The church was built in stages, on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims in the middle of the vineyards. This settlement recalls the existence of a disappeared village, rebuilt lower, that of Ecueil.
From the twelfth century, the nave was built, then the choir and the north arm of the transept were built in the thirteenth century, the south arm of the transept as well as the collaterals added in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The building is completed by a sacristy and the bays are open in the eighteenth century. It was in 1669 that the church was erected as a parish, under the name Saint Crespin and Saint Crespinian.
The church has been perfectly restored since 2010\. A fresco dating from the time of the first construction, recently discovered, is to be discovered.
