Built between 1898 and 1901, the basilica Saint-Clotilda is a memorial church, conceived(designed) in 1896 for the project of the 14th centenarian(centenary) of Clovis's baptism. Intended(Designed) to become the reliquary of Christian France, building possesses a crypt containing 401 reliquaries and more than 2 000 relics. His architect, Alphonse Gosset (1835-1914), creator of Big(Great) Theatre (current Opera), establishments Pommery or else Reims labour houses, conceives(designs) this ambitious monument in neo-Byzantine style. He draws inspiration from his research work published in 1877 under title The domes of East and of Occident, of which the famous Saint-Sophie de Constantinople. The basilica is an emblematic building of this labour suburb of Reims, born in XIX e century.
