Volunteers from the parish welcome you all weekend
Two guided tours are offered on Sunday at 11am and 3pm, led by Michèle François, in charge of the protection of historical monuments at the DRAC Occitanie
Designed by the architect Marcel Pigeire in the 1960s, this remarkable church embodies the great principles of Vatican II: a centered space, open, bathed in light. Its glulam framework, its abstract stained glass windows signed Léon Blanchet and its bold plan make it a place both spiritual and deeply architectural.
Labeled «Remarkable Contemporary Architecture», it opens its doors for free visits on the occasion of the National Days of Architecture. Let yourself be surprised by this singular work, emblematic of the renewal of religious architecture in the 20th century.

Built at the end of the 1960s to accompany the development of the city of the Cévennes, the church of the Holy Spirit embodies the modernization impulse of the Second Vatican Council in an architecture deeply inscribed in its time. Created in 1965, the parish called upon the architect Marcel Pigeire, who designed a building centered, open, bright, favoring the active participation of the faithful. The building, located in the heart of the neighborhood, asserts itself without a bell tower but with a strong urban presence: its square plan with beveled angles rises like a truncated pyramid, topped with a remarkable glulam framework culminating at 17 meters.
The three glazed facades let in a dim light through non-figurative stained glass windows by Léon Blanchet, highlighting the sobriety and spirituality of the place. Inside, the arrangement of the benches in a circular arc, the liturgical furniture in raw concrete and the simple materials (concrete, wood, zinc) reflect a renewed relation
