Die ArtCarjat-Biennale stellt die historische Entstehung des Starporträts durch die Werke von Étienne Carjat, Nadar, Eugène Disdéri und anderen Fotografen des 19. Jahrhunderts dar, bevor sie mit den Harcourt Studios seine zeitgenössischen Entwicklungen im Porträt der Stars unserer Zeit erforscht. Sam Lévin, Ernest Pignon-Ernest - insbesondere sein Werk "Eine Geschichte mit Rimbaud" - sowie die von vier anderen renommierten Künstlern, die die Porträtkunst in Frage stellen.

The ArtCarjat Biennale presents the historical emergence of star portraiture through the works of Étienne Carjat, Nadar, Eugène Disdéri and other photographers of the 19th century, before exploring its contemporary developments in the portrait of today’s stars, with Studios Harcourt, Sam Lévin, Ernest Pignon-Ernest—notably his work "A History with Rimbaud" — as well as those of four other renowned artists, who are shaking up the art of portraiture.
