Push the doors of the Château de Sainte-Colombe-en-Auxois and discover its exhibitions during a guided tour.
This visit invites you to explore the history of the castle while discovering What connects us, a collective exhibition bringing together artists and designers around the links that shape our relationship with living things, others and our territories.
You will continue your journey with the residency exhibition of the collective Ortie, dedicated to local forest issues, then with the carte blanche by Raphaël Galley, Biens communs, which presents research conducted in Mâlain around resources, uses and collective dynamics.
The visit concludes with a presentation of the castle restoration projects. The opportunity to understand the challenges related to the preservation of this living heritage, the projects already carried out and those to come, at the service of the cultural project carried by ARCADE Design in the countryside.

The classical style of the castle, inspired by ancient models and Italian architectural practices, is characterized by the use of rational proportions, the search for symmetry, the balance of lines. The remains of polychromy that can be seen on the facade testify to the use of yellow and red ochers to magnify the respect for the lines and balance of the building. This type of building was at the time referred to as “between courtyard and garden”. In the 18th century, a new wing was added to expand the building to the west. It is characterized by this roof «à la Mansard» allowing the arrangement of attics.
Since 2002, ARCADE has been developing a cultural centre for the promotion of contemporary creation in design and crafts. ARCADE exposes every year creators (designers, artists, plastic artists) recognized or emerging, around a reflection and the challenges of our society.
