The Caravelle Lighthouse is located within the National Nature Reserve of the Caravelle Peninsula in Trinidad in Martinique. It was built in 1861 and commissioned in 1862 as a Maritime Signalling Establishment (ESM). Classified as a Historical Monument since 2013, this building rises more than 180 meters above sea level and is thus the highest lighthouse in France. It has been automated since 1970. Managed by the Lighthouses and Beacons service of the Direction de la Mer, its visit is proposed and guided by the agents of the Regional Natural Park of Martinique, manager of the Nature Reserve. This heritage monument is accessible after a 30-minute walk on the forest trail from the Nature Reserve parking lot.
