Over the centuries, this building has undergone various transformations and uses. In 1938, it was transformed into a boarding school for the girls of the municipal college, humorously nicknamed "Gardeil house" after the name of a biscuit maker from Lectoure. Subsequently, it housed a fire station and was then converted into a thermal pool in 2003, offering thermal waters recognized for their beneficial properties on rheumatism and osteoarticular trauma since 1992.
As for the hotel des Doctrinaires, it was built on the site of the former Saint-Esprit hospital in the 1630s. Remodeled in 1772-1774 by talented architects, it was used as a college of doctrinaires until its closure in 1792. Transformed into a communal college in 1809, it suffered a fire in 1899 which destroyed part of its buildings. After a complete restoration, it was transferred to the state in 1901 and welcomed students until 1967. Later additions were made after 1899, including two buildings adjoining the original building.
