The castle, known since 1123, undergoes the hazards of history. Invested by the English then besieged by the Huguenots, it was then sold as a national property at the Revolution. In the 19th century, architect Boyer was given the task of remodeling, and erected a Neo-Gothic chapel between 1856 and 1882\. Surrounded by a park closed by 18th century gates, the castle consists of a central body with two levels under dormers. On both sides, two nineteenth-century pavilions under a four-slope roof. On the posterior elevation, two half-hors-œuvre towers are topped with peppers. Inside, two living rooms have kept their 18th century woodwork, as well as several bedrooms upstairs. The chapel is arranged around a central square module, surrounded by four rectangular chapels. It is decorated with eleven stained glass windows made in 1856 and 1882, by Lobin de Tours then Fournier.
