Laetitia Maison-Soulard, Spezialist für industrielles Erbe im Bereich Kulturerbe und Inventar der Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine, lädt Sie ein, die ehemalige Werkstatt für Harzprodukte in Luxey zu entdecken.
Im Jahr 2026 renoviert, ist dieser Standort heute eines der wenigen Zeugnisse der Edelsteindestillationsindustrie in den Landes. Vom Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts bis in die 1970er Jahre wurde das Harz der maritimen Kiefern geerntet und destilliert, um verschiedene chemische Substanzen herzustellen, insbesondere Terpentinöl.
In den 1930er Jahren waren noch etwa hundert solcher Werkstätten im Südwesten tätig, was Frankreich zum weltweit größten Produzenten von Terpentinöl machte. Luxeys Werkstatt war von 1859 bis 1955 in Betrieb.
Der Besuch wird es ermöglichen, die Organisation der Arbeit, die verwendeten Techniken und die Rolle dieser Tätigkeit in der lokalen Wirtschaftsgeschichte zu verstehen.
Anfang der 1970er-Jahre vom Regionalen Naturpark der Landes de Gascogne übernommen und 1990 als historisches Denkmal eingetragen, gehört das Atelier heute zur Gemeinde Luxey.

Guided tours of the former Luxey softwood workshop
Laetitia Maison-Soulard, a specialist in industrial heritage at the Heritage and Inventory department of the New Aquitaine region, invites you to discover the former workshop of resinous products of Luxey.
Renovated in 2026, this site is now one of the few witnesses to the gem distillation industry in the Landes. From the late 19th century to the 1970s, the resin of maritime pines was harvested and then distilled in order to produce various chemicals, including turpentine oil.
In the 1930s, a hundred workshops of this type were still active in the Southwest, making France the world’s leading producer of turpentine. The workshop of Luxey, meanwhile, operated from 1859 to 1955.
The visit will help to understand the organization of work, the techniques used and the role of this activity in local economic history.
Bought by the Parc naturel régional des Landes de Gascogne in the early 1970s, then listed as a historical monument in 1990, the workshop now belongs to the municipality of Luxey.

Ristrutturato nel 2026, questo sito è oggi uno dei pochi testimoni dell'industria della distillazione del gemme nelle Landes. Dalla fine del XIX secolo agli anni '70, la resina dei pini marittimi veniva raccolta e poi distillata per produrre diverse sostanze chimiche, in particolare l'essenza di trementina.
Negli anni '30, un centinaio di officine di questo tipo erano ancora in attività nel sud-ovest, rendendo la Francia il primo produttore mondiale di essenza di trementina. La bottega di Luxey, dal canto suo, operò dal 1859 al 1955.
La visita permetterà di comprendere l'organizzazione del lavoro, le tecniche impiegate e il ruolo di questa attività nella storia economica locale.

Rénové en 2026, ce site constitue aujourd’hui l’un des rares témoins de l’industrie de la distillation de la gemme dans les Landes. De la fin du XIXe siècle aux années 1970, la résine des pins maritimes était récoltée puis distillée afin de produire différentes substances chimiques, notamment l’essence de térébenthine.
Dans les années 1930, une centaine d’ateliers de ce type étaient encore en activité dans le Sud-Ouest, faisant de la France le premier producteur mondial d’essence de térébenthine. L’atelier de Luxey a, quant à lui, fonctionné de 1859 à 1955.
La visite permettra de comprendre l’organisation du travail, les techniques employées et le rôle de cette activité dans l’histoire économique locale.
Racheté par le Parc naturel régional des Landes de Gascogne au début des années 1970, puis inscrit au titre des Monuments historiques en 1990, l’atelier appartient aujourd’hui à la commune de Luxey.

Renovado en 2026, este sitio es hoy uno de los pocos testigos de la industria de la destilación de la gema en las Landas. Desde finales del siglo XIX hasta la década de 1970, la resina de los pinos marítimos se recogió y luego se destiló para producir diferentes sustancias químicas, en particular la esencia de trementina.
En los años 1930, un centenar de talleres de este tipo todavía estaban en actividad en el suroeste, haciendo de Francia el primer productor mundial de gasolina de trementina. El taller de Luxey funcionó desde 1859 hasta 1955.
La visita permitirá comprender la organización del trabajo, las técnicas empleadas y el papel de esta actividad en la historia económica local.
