Conference on the history of Basque pelota and visit to the castle of Haitze (Friday, September 18).
In Ustaritz, a mecca of Basque culture, discover two emblematic heritage sites of Labourd: the Basque pelota and the castle of Haitze.
The meeting will begin with a conference dedicated to the history of Basque pelota, sport and cultural practice deeply rooted in local identity. From the origins of the game to its various specialties, this presentation will help us better understand the importance of the pediments, gestures and traditions that bring this popular heritage to life.
Sunday 20 September:
We offer you a visit to the castle of Haitze, a historic residence whose origins merge with those of Labourd. Typical of noble constructions in the province, this private place, listed as a historical monument, bears witness to the history of Ustaritz and the great families that have marked the territory.
A discovery between sport, history and architecture, in the heart of the Basque Country.
