L'Atelier du Livre, Conservation – Restauration is a company (SAS) led by François Vinourd and his daughter Marie whose main activity is the conservation and restoration of books. The workshop is first located in Avignon at the Manutention behind the Palais des Papes in partnership with Silvia Brunetti. Now installed in Les Baux de Provence at the Louis Jou Foundation in a beautiful 16th century Hotel, Hotel de Brion, newly restored. The main purpose of the Book Workshop is to carry out conservation campaigns and restoration works and digitization of archival documents for archives and libraries as well as training courses in higher education (Enssib), internships (BnF IHL). The company can also conduct projects abroad such as training sessions and restoration campaigns especially in Lebanon for several institutions and in Egypt with regular missions to the monastery of Deir-al-Surian). This work gives rise to publications and participation in symposia. The program of this weekend Heritage Days will focus on the craft and technical presentation and materials (using educational panels).
