Self-guided tour of the church of Saint-Vincent-de-Perpertignas
French heritage classified in Saint-Vincent-de-Perpertignas:
The Church of Saint Vincent is a Romanesque religious site. It is also a listed monument to the buildings of France in 2002.
Built on the site of a pre-Romanesque building, this imposing church is particularly noticeable by the historical architectural traces present in the south wall of the nave (oblong room), by the sacristy built in 1728, the chapel north side in 1737 and the realization of a sundial on the wall south side in 1744
This parish church was enlarged at the end of the Gothic period, the tympanum symbolizes this addition. The architectural aspect of this monument follows the simple plan representing the Romanesque churches of the twelfth and thirteenth: a nave, a false transept (transverse nave) surmounted by a bell tower on dome, a choir (part where the high altar is located) and apse in cul-de-four (quarter sphere vault).
Cemetery pillars and wall:
Installation, excavation, demolition, foundation, reinforcement, sanding, picketing, joining, capping, connection, stone cutting, cleaning, etc. so many adventures experienced by our wall which had little work since its completion in 1762. Work duly carried out by the Firm GRENIER Maçonnerie in Saint-Pey-de-Castets.
The entrance pillars have also been redone as the original ones, thanks to the financial participation of the Association of Friends of the Church of Saint Vincent.
The payment of the grants, granted by the Department of Gironde (€ 7,224) and the State (€ 29,654.80), is subject to the signing of a report between the Mayor, Gauthier Pierre, and the entrepreneur, Grenier Alexandre.
This signing was the occasion to invite the Saint-Vincennaises and Saint-Vincennais to the reception of the works, during which the elected representatives thanked the financial partners and the courageous workers for the work carried out under any type of time.
