Come and watch the presentation of the new film: «Sainte-Gemme priory, evolution and restitution attempt».
The film shows the changes that occurred in the monastery from the beginning of the construction site at the end of the eleventh century until the Wars of Religion.
The approximately 12-minute film presents 3D renderings, with animated and hyperrealistic images.
The animations allow to evolve around the restored buildings and to visit the interior of the most prestigious spaces of the monastery: the church, the cloister, the chapter house, as well as the living spaces of the monks, dormitory, refectory, etc.
The hypotheses of restitution of the monument were developed on the basis of the architectural survey and the study of the building. The disappeared structures are informed through the reports of archaeological excavations and specified by comparison with nearby monuments of the same typology and the same period.

In the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, the priory houses about twenty monks of choir and the superior is one of the notables of the Casadian family.
The Wars of Religion left the priory in ruins and at the Revolution the monastery was sold as national property, from now on, we live and work in the buildings of the monks, we open shops.
