Following the fire of the first station in Metz in 1873, the German authorities decided to build a new one. This station was decommissioned in 1908 following the commissioning of the one we know. The SNCF occupied the premises until 2014\. Now under construction, the buildings must accommodate the INSEE staff and the human resources department of the Departmental Directorate of Public Finance of Moselle.
