About the location

Musée du Pays de Hanau
3 place du Château, 67330 Bouxwiller
  • Bas-Rhin
  • Grand Est
The museum of the Country of Hanau, located in Bouxwiller, takes a seat(takes place) in an architectural ensemble outstandingly renovated, registered in conformance with(for) historic monuments. The corn exchange of the XVIth century s. and the old(former) castrale chapel of the XIVth century s., serve as case to this Museum of France, real tool of interpretation(performance) of a territory in numerous heritages. Spaces given rhythm by the imposing skeleton create original atmospheres, adapted to different themes. Thanks to a subtle and modern muséographie, you will discover history(story), culture and natural environment of this territory attaching which is the Country of Hanau. The city of Bouxwiller, old(former) capital of the county of Hanau-Lichtenberg, then residence of the princes of Hesse-Darmstadt, kept(preserved) numerous witnesses(batons) of its exceptional past.
