This fortress became a garrison from a wooden tower, dating from the 11th century, and rebuilt in stone in the 13th century. The castle - quadrilateral - is flanked by four towers overlooking the valley. It was attacked by the Duke of Savoy in 1692\. The interior decoration dates from the 19th century and its French garden has been renovated.
