Built between 1860 and 1870, the church of Althen des Paluds is the image of the Althénois who wanted and built it. To visit it is to immerse yourself in the local society of the time as much as in the faith of the inhabitants.
Heritage Days are an opportunity to get to know those who came before us on Paluds Lands.
We propose you an evocation of this monument representative of the life of the village, from 16h to 17h.

At the beginning of 1857, a first project envisaged the destruction of the existing chapel (current Town Hall) but, after many debates, the Council of the Fabrique (council in charge of the material management of the parish) finally decides to keep it and build a larger church.
The work was completed in 1862\. In 1870, the new church was given to the commune.
