Originally placed in the center of the Roman hippodrome, dating from the 2nd century, the obelisk was de-placed and erected in the 17th century in front of the newly built town hall. Today, the wear of time and corrosion of metal elements threaten this ancient monument. This conference will present the current restoration and explain the phases of cleaning, consolidating and replacing some stones that are too damaged. By Renzo Wieder, Heritage Architect
