Claire Delhumeau presents the different facets of her profession as a mural restorer based on the conservation interventions she carried out at the Vouland Museum in 2023. It also testifies to his career, his training and his most significant experiences on site. Nomadism is one of the characteristics of this profession: the mural being subjected to architecture, it is the restorer who moves, and not the painting.

  • Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September from 15h to 17h Presence of the Friends of the Louis Vouland Museum who allowed the interventions of conservation of the paintings of the vault of the vestibule of the museum in January-February 2023

About the location

Musée Vouland
17 rue Victor-Hugo 84000 Avignon
  • Vaucluse
  • Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
The only museum of decorative arts in Avignon and its region, the Vouland Museum immerses you in the intimate atmosphere of a 20th century collector’s residence. Its remarkable collection of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries is presented in a mansion of the nineteenth century a few steps from the ramparts and the Rhone. The garden to the south, unsuspected street side, is a delicious haven to continue the visit, refuge of the League of Protection of Birds. The purpose of the museum is also to discover the arts of the region, past and present. The current exhibition is dedicated to the Avignon landscape painter Auguste Roure (1878-1936), known as «the painter of the garrigues and pebbles».
