About the location

Fondation Carzou, chapelle du couvent de la Présentation
9 bd Elémir Bourges, 04100 Manosque
  • Alpes-de-Haute-Provence
  • Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
The chapel of the convent of presentation, jewel of the architecture of the nineteenth century, houses the testamentary work of the painter Carzou (1907-2000), a masterful fresco inspired by the text of John the Evangelist and recounts the cycle of human adventure while revisiting the themes dear to the artist. The Apocalypse traces the great trials of humanity, wars, genocides, devastations but also the reconstruction, the triumph of purity, the rebirth of the earth and, finally, the heavenly Jerusalem and the triumph of the lamb.
