The MuCEM is interested in the civilizations of Europe and the Mediterranean and studies their history to understand contemporary phenomena, with a constant concern to cross views and disciplines. More than a place of exhibitions of works and objects, it is a true cultural city, a place of life and plural expressions. Meetings and debates, shows, concerts, cinema and archive screenings complete the museum’s daily offer. On the courtyard and garden side, between town and sea, are Fort Saint-Jean and the building of the J4 pier, which host the major exhibitions, the weekly meetings and the highlights of the MuCEM.
