Peyrolles-en-Provence

Located in the Durance valley, the town of Peyrolles-en-Provence will reveal all its heritage and environmental wealth. First in the village, you will discover the Castle of Roy René, the Palm Cave (unique in Europe), the Church of Saint-Pierre, the Belfry and its bell tower and the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre. Then, the route runs through the pine forest and leads to some open environments to enjoy unobstructed views of the village but also the Durance valley, the Luberon and the Concors and its watch. Saint-Estève-Janson

TO SEE • The 12th century chapel dedicated to Saint-Estève (Saint-Etienne in Occitan), the keys are at the town hall. • The ruins of the castle of Forbin de Janson, built on a private plot but free to visit.
• La Chaîne des Côtes, an authentic walk in the Provençal forest. • The Théâtre du Vallon de l'Escale, built in 2012, has won several awards in architectural competitions and many cultural events are scheduled for the summer. • The EDF plant, information on the EDF site • The former Marseille Canal that brought water to Marseille and offers a walk under the cover of holm oaks and pines. • The banks of the Durance, home to a varied, lively and welcoming nature and fauna. • Guest rooms offered by some villagers, see the site of the town. ____________________________

The towns of Saint-Paul-lez-Durance, Jouques, Peyrolles-en-Provence, Meyrargues, Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade, Saint-Estève Janson and La Roque-d'Anthéron have decided to join forces to create an intercommunality to harmonize and optimize their cultural events and actions but also to:
• to share materials necessary for the organization of events, • to create a shared agenda on which will be mentioned all the events organized on the 7 communes, • to create a strong visual identity of Durance, Rive Gauche • to create a web page, Facebook and Instagram joint dedicated to events of all municipalities, • organize intercommunal events, • launch eventually, a common reservation center, • define informative and interactive maps.
Indeed, with a desire to create a policy of sharing and collaboration we wish to offer the best of culture to all citizens by encouraging them to discover the events of the villages Durance, Rive Gauche.
